JD Group has invited seven international leading teams for the architectural design of its Shenzhen headquarters at Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base in Nanshan District.
Shenzhen Urban Design Promotion Center’s recent bidding notice showed that the project is located at the northwestern part of the intersection of Shenwan No. 4 and Baishi No. 4 roads and covers 29,745 square meters. It will have an 187,500-square-meter construction area and include skyscrapers no higher than 200 meters and podium buildings no higher than 30 meters.
At the 2019 Shenzhen Global Investment Promotion Conference, the Shenzhen government signed a framework with JD Group for JD’s Shenzhen headquarters project and its intelligent e-commerce operation and settlement center.
JD’s headquarters projects include the headquarters of Jingxi, the social e-commerce platform launched by JD, and international headquarters of JD Group, innovation center, GBA AI Research Institute and high-end talent base. It will be an industrial cluster integrating digital and industrial infrastructure, innovation, tech talent cultivation, intelligent manufacturing and modern services.
The company now is inviting bids from seven leading architectural design teams including Buro Ole Scheeren, Aedas Ltd., U.N. Studio B.V. and ECADI. The winning bidders will be announced in April.
Earlier in August 2021, Shenzhen Chunxiao Huakai Science and Technology Co. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary by JD.com International Co. Ltd., won the land parcel for the price of nearly 3.11 billion yuan (US$491.18 million).
By January 2022, 16 enterprises in total had settled at Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base. Among them are JD Group, China Merchants Bank, China Electronics Group, Vanke, Shenzhen Metro Group, CITIC Securities, Transsion Communications, Hang Lik International, China Digital Group, TCL CSOT, ZTE, iCarbonX and Liantai Group.
