The China Campus Drama Festival and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Drama Invitational Exhibition to be Held in Nanshan District

On October 18, the China Campus Drama Festival, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Drama Invitational Exhibition and the 2021 Nanshan Drama Festival preparatory meeting were held in Nanshan District. The 7th China Campus Drama Festival will be held in Nanshan from November 16 to December 2, the meeting announced. This is the first time for Shenzhen to hold the China Campus Drama Festival. In the future, Nanshan District is expected to be the home to the festival for a long time.
According to the meeting this year's China Campus Drama Festival will be held concurrently with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Drama Invitational Exhibition and Nanshan Drama Festival, jointly sponsored by The Chinese Dramatists Association, Publicity Department of Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC, Shenzhen Municipal Literature & Arts Association, Shenzhen Nanshan District People's Government. The theme of this drama festival is "Tong (together)", which represents the like-minded and collaborative efforts of the young people under the pandemic.
Founded in 2008, the China Campus Drama Festival is a national activity, which has been held in Shanghai, Beijing and other places in the past. As of the end of July this year, the China Campus Festival Organizing Committee received 81 plays submitted by colleges and universities across the country, ultimately selected 16 works, including the Shanghai Theater Academy of Tibetan class "Hamlet", the Central Academy of Drama "Song of Youth" and the "Day by Day in One Hundred Year" of Shenzhen University. These works will be exhibited and performed on theaters of the district.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Drama Invitational Exhibition includes "Outstanding Theatre Exhibition and Performance" and "Cross-strait and Hong Kong-Macao Regional Theatre Forum". There will be six dramas to be exhibited and performed, including "White Snake" of Zhejiang Wu Troupe, "Water Down" of Beijing Xinfeng Troupe, "Game Boy" of Shenzhen Litchi Youth Troupe, "the Last Supper" of Hong Kong Troupe, "Nine Sound" of Macao Small Town Experimental Troupe, and "Circle" of Taiwan Stan lai Troupe. The regional theatre forum will invite experts and scholars to discuss possible crises faced by theater and countermeasures in an online and offline way, so as to promote the development of Chinese theatre.
