Nanshan District has 10 new child-friendly bases at the municipal level, including one child-friendly subdistrict, two child-friendly schools, two child-friendly hospitals, one child-friendly library, three child-friendly practice bases, and one child-friendly travel program, according to the Shenzhen Women and Children’s Working Committee Office.

The 10 new child-friendly bases are:

Child-friendly subdistrict: Shekou Subdistrict

Child-friendly schools: Taohuayuan Kindergarten, Shekou Yucai Education Group Sunshine Kindergarten

Child-friendly hospitals: Tianxia Community Health Service Center, Shuguang Community Health Service Center

Child-friendly library: Yuehai Subdistrict Branch of Nanshan District Library

Child-friendly practice bases: Shekou Maritime Museum, Bo’er National Defense Science Popularization Museum, Shenzhen Financial Science Popularization Education Base

Child-friendly travel program: child-friendly demonstration road of Nanshan Kindergarten Affiliated to Shenzhen University

Children are the future of a city. Nanshan has included “building a child-friendly urban area” into its “14th Five-Year Plan” outline, and “promoting a child-friendly environment” in the report of the latest local Party congress.

Thus far, Nanshan has built 96 child-friendly bases and 146 baby care rooms.
