Train stations of Shenzhen

Shenzhen Railway Station 深圳站

Shenzhen Railway Station, also known as Luohu Station, is a major train station located in Luohu District. If you need to get to downtown Guangzhou, this station makes a great departure point. You can take Metro Line 1 to Luohu Station or take buses to reach the railway station.

Shenzhen North Railway Station 深圳北站

The trains at Shenzhen North Railway Station dispatch high-speed intercity trains to cities as far as Xi'an. Citizens can take Metro Line 4 and 5 to reach Shenzhen North Railway metro station located below the railway station.

Futian Railway Station 福田站

With an area of 147,000 square meters, Futian Railway Station is the largest underground station in Asia, and second largest underground rail station in the world. It is located in Futian District, the central business district of Shenzhen.

The station is on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link. In addition to serving high-speed intercity trains, the station connects with Shenzhen Metro trains 1, 2, 3, 4 and 11 as well.

Shenzhen East Railway Station 深圳东站

Shenzhen East Railway Station is located in Buji of Longgang District. Citizens can take Metro Line 3 and 5 to reach Buji metro station nearby the railway station.

Shenzhen West Railway Station 深圳西站

Shenzhen West Railway Station is located in Nanshan District. It is also called Nantou train station. Passengers can take Metro Line 1 and get off at the Daxin Station.

Shenzhen Pingshan High-speed Railway Station 深圳坪山站

Shenzhen Pingshan High-speed Railway Station is located in Pingshan District. It is notable as a high-speed railway station on the Xiamen-Shenzhen Railway.

Guangmingcheng Railway Station 光明城站

The Guangmingcheng Railway Station is located in Guangming District, Shenzhen. Several trains running between Shenzhen and other areas like Guangzhou, Chaoshan and Changsha stop here.

How can foreigners buy a train ticket in China?

The official ticket selling website of the Ministry of Railways is www.12306.cn.

Foreigners can either purchase a train ticket at the station ticket office or buy a ticket online through the 12306 official website or app. Through www.12306.cn, passengers can look up relevant train information.

Foreign passengers should carry the original or a photocopy of their valid identity document (such as their passport, you have to photocopy the original passport instead of a photocopy of a photo of the original passport) and purchase the ticket directly at the ticket office inside the railway stations.

Foreign passengers can also purchase train tickets via the 12306 website after registering an account on the website with their passports. Later they can collect the ticket at a train station ticket office by presenting their passports. Please note that foreign passengers cannot collect their train tickets with their passports at the automatic ticket dispensers.
