Brief Introduction of Taoyuan International Block

  Taoyuan Sub-district is located at the northeast of Nanshan District, east to Tanglang Mountain, adjacent to Meilin Sub-district in Futian District, west of the Xili Reservoir and Dasha River, and next to Xili Sub-district, south to Beihuan Avenue; with a superior natural environment and convenient public transportation. As the core of Xili Lake International Science and Education City and the "Intelligent Center" of Nanshan District, Taoyuan Sub-district has obvious advantages in location, concentration of university resources, rich industrial resources, outstanding community resources, and innovative personality. The sub-district has 7 universities and colleges, Tsinghua University Shenzhen International Graduate School, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Southern University of Science and Technology, Lihu Campus of Shenzhen University, Georgia Tech Shenzhen Institute, Tianjin University, Guangdong Xin'an Vocational and Technical College. The number of colleges and universities in Taoyuan accounted for nearly half of the city, therefore it is the highland of higher education in Shenzhen. Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen (Shenzhen Cloud Computing Center) are also located here. According to statistics, the foreign population in the Sub-district is about 2500, mostly studying and working, with high education and high-level characteristics. Taoyuan Sub-district takes the University Town as the center, focuses on the strategy of Xili Lake International Science and Education City, constructs a new highland for talent service, constructs International Talents Service Center with high standard and operates Taoyuan Service Center for Expats with high quality. Taoyuan Sub-district has three cultural brand events -- Xili Lake International Art Week, Xili Lake Lecture, University Town of Shenzhen “Taoyuan Cup” Half Marathon, established Taoyuan International Volunteer Team, and successfully held Chinese and foreign exchange activities such as "Discover Nanshan -- Taoyuan Trip" and "To Future" Youth Leadership Creative Camp.
