Foreign-funded enterprises in Nanshan

METRO: METRO Group plans to establishits South Headquarters Project in Nanshan to promote omni-channel business integration and help the development of Shenzhen’s headquarters economy.

ABB: ABB Group is a leading global enterprise in the fields of power and automation technology. In Nov. 2019, ABB set up the ABB Open Innovation Center in Nanshan, which is the first open innovation center of ABB in the world. In July 2021, the Shenzhen ABB E-mobility Technology Shenzhen Co. Ltd. was established in Nanshan as the ABB E-Mobility China headquarters, mainly engaged in the research and development and services of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Siemens Healthineers: Siemens Healthineers started investing in Nanshan in 2002 and it has now developed into one of the world’s largest research and production bases for Siemens Healthineers. In May 2023, Siemens Healthineers announced an additional investment of over 1 billion yuan to build a new high-end medical equipment R&D and manufacturing base in Nanshan District. After completion, it will become Siemens Healthineers’ new R&D and manufacturing base under the “dual site operation mode” in Shenzhen.

Apple: Apple Inc. established a South China regional operations center in Shenzhen, positioning it as the South China regional hub and a procurement center covering South China and Southeast Asia. In February 2016, the project was located in Shekou Net Valley, Nanshan District. It serves as the command headquarters and dispatch center to enhance Apple’s online and offline sales channels, with main businesses encompassing five major sectors: supply chain management, operations, research and development, online sales, and offline retail. In October 2016, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the establishment of a research and development center in Shenzhen. This R&D center primarily engages in product design, reliability testing, product verification, compliance, materials and technology development, and global project management. Apple's Shenzhen R&D center has already formed strategic partnerships with several well-known domestic companies, including Foxconn, MYS, OFILM, Sunway Communication, and others.

Qualcomm: Qualcomm relies on its Shenzhen Innovation Center to integrate and strengthen its resources and investments in Shenzhen, equipped with multiple globally leading laboratories, and established the world's first “Technology Exhibition Center” for wireless communication and the Internet of Things (IoT) outside the U.S. It is committed to continuously bringing global innovation in wireless technology to China. In October 2016, Qualcomm Shenzhen Innovation Center was officially launched, equipped with multiple advanced laboratories, research and development technology, and customer engineering teams. While helping Chinese mobile phone manufacturers reduce development costs, it also provides on-site technical support to customers to accelerate the product launch process. In addition to expanding the field of smartphones, Qualcomm Shenzhen Innovation Center also focuses on applications in IoT, intelligent terminals, 5G, intelligent connected vehicles, smart cities, and other areas.

Intel: Intel, based on its advanced technology and products, gathers global ecological resources, and collaborates with the Nanshan District Government to build a cloud edge integration open platform, focusing on product innovation, achievement display and promotion, technology talent cultivation, enterprise acceleration empowerment, cutting-edge technology research, etc. of the new generation of information technology, jointly building a leading regional and first-class technology innovation center highland in China. In July 2023, Intel’s Greater Bay Area Innovation Center was opened in Nanshan District.

Accenture: The Accenture Innovation Hub in Shenzhen gathers global R&D investment and solutions, and build a center with cutting-edge artificial intelligence, robotics technology, industrial X.0 technology and other intelligent interconnected hardware and digital technologies. In April 2019, the Accenture Innovation Hub in Shenzhen was opened. In May 2019, the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Commerce signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Accenture.
