Youth innovation, cooperation spotlighted in parallel session of SCO's forum

A parallel session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Youth Technology and Innovation Forum was held yesterday in Qianhai Shimao Tower to promote youth innovation and boost scientific and technological cooperation.

The Parallel Session on Youth Innovation and Cooperation aims to strengthen international youth exchanges, build an international youth entrepreneurship incubation platform, encourage young people worldwide to innovate, set up businesses in Shenzhen and pursue their dreams, promote the deep integration of international youth innovation resources and constantly explore new models, mechanisms and platforms for international youth cooperation.

The session spotlighted discussion on three topics, specifically innovative education, scientific and technological innovation cooperation, and training of young scientific and technological talents.

Guests and representatives from government agencies, universities at home and abroad such as Shenzhen MSU-BIT University (SMBU) and Moscow State University, scientific research institutions and innovative enterprises of SCO member countries were invited to share their insights and offer suggestions on related topics during the on-site session or via video link.

At the session, SMBU, the event organizer, initiated the Shenzhen International Youth Partnership Program on Innovation Exchanges as the parallel session’s outcome to promote innovation and cooperation among the youth.

Priyasha Sharma, an Indian student and invited attendee at the session, suggested that the parallel session and forum offered a good opportunity for young people worldwide to communicate and witness the city’s vitality and innovative spirit.

Another four parallel sessions were held simultaneously yesterday afternoon in Shenzhen, focusing on topics such as artificial intelligence, green development, digital economy development and people’s health.

The three-day SCO Youth Technology and Innovation Forum will wrap up today.
