Nanshan District has embarked on a significant journey with the initiation of construction for 36 new projects. These projects are part of the first batch of new constructions for the year 2025 in the city, which encompasses a total of 259 projects. Nanshan’s share of the development pie is substantial, with a total investment value of approximately 32.35 billion yuan (US$4.41 billion) and an annual planned investment of around 7.05 billion yuan.

One of the most notable projects is the Houhai commercial and residential land project. With a total investment of roughly 20.8 billion yuan, the project occupies a land area of 38,500 square meters and boasts a building area of 263,000 square meters. The development aims to set a new standard for high-quality residential properties and will feature residential apartments, commercial spaces, kindergartens, and cultural facilities.

Another project, the Modern Fashion Creative Industry Headquarters Base, won by DR Group, has also broken ground. The project, with an investment of approximately 860 million yuan, is set on a land area of 3,300 square meters and will have a building area of 26,800 square meters. Once completed, it is expected to attract a legion of high-end cultural and creative design enterprises.

In a bid to enhance the urban landscape and promote sustainability, the Virtual University Park’s sixth facade upgrade and comprehensive energy transformation project is also underway. The project, valued at about 140 million yuan, will see the upgrade and transformation of the roofs of 18 buildings. By integrating photovoltaic power generation and green electricity, the project will not only improve the aesthetic of the city‘s rooftops but also boost the park’s energy efficiency and user experience.

The highly anticipated Xili Xinwei urban renewal project, with an investment of approximately 2.85 billion yuan, has also commenced. Covering a land area of 30,000 square meters and a construction area of 169,000 square meters, the project will feature a mix of office buildings, residential spaces, commercial spaces, and public housing. The development is set to transform the current landscape, addressing issues of land use inefficiency, outdated industrial formats, and poor spatial quality, and will contribute to a vibrant waterfront along the Dasha River Ecological Corridor, supporting the growth of the X-Lake Sciensity.

Other significant projects in Nanshan include the renovation and expansion of educational institutions such as Lvjing Shahe School and Baishizhou School, the expansion of Xili Hospital with state-of-the-art medical equipment, and other construction projects.
