The first domestically produced 7.0T magnetic resonance imaging system has recently been introduced to the Shenzhen Nanshan People's Hospital and is expected to be officially put into use in 2025.

This is the first 7.0T magnetic resonance imaging system in Guangdong Province that can be used for the human body. It is currently the only domestically produced 7.0T magnetic resonance imaging equipment that can meet both clinical and scientific research needs, according to Shekou News.

The 7.0T magnetic resonance equipment — MAGNETOM Terra.X — produced by Siemens Healthineers, is mainly used for neurological diseases, which can effectively improve the sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis for diseases such as cerebral small vessel disease, epilepsy, tumors, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and joint cartilage. Its imaging information can be used to optimize the diagnosis and treatment process of multiple diseases, providing rich imaging evidence for developing personalized treatment plans for patients.

The 7.0T ultra-high field magnetic resonance imaging device is currently an advanced magnetic resonance imaging system that can be used for human body scanning. Compared to traditional 1.5T and 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging, 7.0T magnetic resonance imaging greatly improves the diagnostic capabilities of neurological and psychiatric diseases, problems of the locomotor system, vascular diseases, tumors, and provides a new dimension for disease mechanism research to achieve more accurate diagnosis and treatment due to its close proximity to living anatomical tissues, metabolic imaging, multinuclear imaging, and other technologies.

According to the Shenzhen Nanshan People's Hospital, it will continue to introduce and apply advanced medical technology to provide patients with more accurate and personalized diagnosis and treatment plans in the future.
