The recent exchange meeting between testing institutions and key enterprises in Nanshan District revealed that the Nanshan boasts 124 inspection and testing institutions, which issued over 4 million testing reports in 2023, constituting 22% of the city's total output.

From January to July this year, the inspection technology service providers above designated size in Nanshan recorded a revenue of 2.66 billion yuan (US$378 million), marking a 7.4% year-on-year growth, showcasing robust market resilience and adaptability.

The head of Nanshan’s market supervision bureau emphasized that the advanced quality inspection technology service industry is a cornerstone for the development of the science and technology sector. It plays a pivotal and empowering role in advancing new industrialization, fostering new quality productive forces, and building a modern industrial system.

Nanshan is home to several influential domestic and international testing and certification institutions, including Intertek, TÜV Rheinland, HTW and the Shenzhen Institute of Quality & Safety Inspection and Research.

Additionally, the district hosts a multitude of national platforms and laboratories. All eight national quality inspection centers in Shenzhen, such as the National Digital Electronic Product Testing Center, the National Distributed Photovoltaic Power Generation System Quality Inspection Center, and the National Connected Vehicle Product Quality Inspection Center, are located in Nanshan.
