Over 30 Chinese and foreign residents filled the Nanshan International Cultural Exchange & Service Center (NSIC) with festive cheer on the afternoon of Jan. 27, gathering to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY). The center, decorated for the holidays, is buzzing with a vibrant atmosphere.
Local and expat residents delved into the art of bamboo weaving, crafting intricate pieces adorned with phrases like "May all wishes come true" and "Wish you happiness and health." Laughter filled the air as they penned and exchanged heartfelt New Year wishes for each other.

The celebration deepened with an exploration of Chinese New Year woodblock printing. Guided by an experienced inheritor of this intangible cultural heritage, participants learned the craft and created their own simple prints, carrying a piece of tradition home.
As the afternoon drew to a close, three South Korean expats graced the audience playing the electric piano, violin, and cello, providing a beautiful finale to the festivities.
This event served as a bridge between cultures, allowing residents to immerse themselves in the enchanting world of traditional Chinese customs while forging new friendships and exchanging auspicious wishes with one another.
