SZ Hi-tech Park among country’s top 100 industrial parks

The Shenzhen Hi-tech Industrial Park ranked 5th among the top 100 advanced manufacturing parks in 2023, according to a list recently released by the Advanced Manufacturing Research Center of CCID Consulting.

Beijing Zhongguancun Science Park, Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, and Suzhou Industrial Park were in the top three.

Located in Nanshan District, the Shenzhen Hi-tech Industrial Park was established in 1996, with a planned area of 11.52 square kilometers. It is one of the 10 pilot parks established by the Ministry of Science and Technology in its efforts to build world-class high-tech parks. The park was expanded to 159.48 square kilometers in April 2019.

Currently, Nanshan is building a 10-kilometer “headquarters R&D + high-end manufacturing” industrial belt to develop high-end manufacturing with multiple projects, including the upgrading and transformation of the Baiwangxin Industrial Park and the construction of the Nanshan Smart City.

According to statistics, from January to November 2022, the leading economic indicators of the Shenzhen Hi-tech Industrial Park achieved steady growth, with a total industrial output value of 1,623.27 billion yuan (US$225 billion), a year-on-year increase of 11.08%.

As an innovation hub in Shenzhen, Nanshan has more than 4,500 national high-tech enterprises. In 2022, the added value of advanced manufacturing increased by 8.2% in Nanshan, accounting for 60.6% of the added value of industries above designated size.
