Nearly 60 partners of Intel, a semiconductor computer and computing industry leader, attended the opening ceremony of the company’s Greater Bay Area Innovation Center in Nanshan District on July 29.
At the event, the first six companies that will go in signed contracts and joined the center’s innovation acceleration camp. Another six companies signed MoUs for cooperation projects with Intel.

The establishment of the Greater Bay Area Innovation Center is a major step forward for Intel in promoting regional application innovation, and also a consolidation of the company’s 2.0 strategy upgrade for Intel China, according to the semiconductor giant.
The innovation center is an innovation exchange platform jointly built by the Nanshan District Government and Intel, operated and managed by Shenzhen Extreme Vision Technology Co. Ltd.
The center will focus on fields such as artificial intelligence, chip application development, edge computing and digital development, and gather upstream and downstream resources of the industrial chain.

The center will provide comprehensive one-stop business incubation and empowerment services for high-quality scientific and technological innovation enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong-Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), providing support in resources and technology to firms at different development stages.
At present, the center’s multiple tasks have been initiated and positive progress has been made, according to Intel China Ltd.
“Through this innovation exchange platform, we will further leverage Intel’s technological and ecological advantages, work together with partners to promote more application innovations that meet local needs, and help promote the integrated development of emerging industries in the GBA and even across the country,” Dr. Wang Rui, senior vice president of Intel Corp. and chair of Intel China, said.
According to Intel, it will cooperate with its partners to establish a number of joint laboratories to promote the implementation and industrialization of innovation achievements in the IC industry, green and low-carbon development, smart transportation and other fields.
