The per capita disposable income of residents in Nanshan District stood at 95,710 yuan (US$13,339) in 2022, up 5.9% year on year, data from the district’s statistics bureau showed.

The district had a permanent population of 1.81 million at the end of 2022, according to the district’s statistics bulletin on economic and social development, which was recently released by the bureau.

In 2022, the district’s GDP reached 803.58 billion yuan, an increase of 3.3% over the previous year.

According to household sampling survey data, the per capita consumer expenditure of residents in Nanshan climbed 3.4% to stand at 57,834 yuan.

At the end of 2022, there were 4,542 national high-tech enterprises in Nanshan, accounting for 19.7% of the city’s total. The annual volume of authorized patents throughout the year reached 56,805, according to the bureau’s statistics bulletin.

By the end of 2022, Nanshan had 112 public libraries, three more compared to the previous year, and had a total collection of 2.78 million books. The district had 732 community-based cultural and sports facilities, an increase of 124 year on year. Throughout the year, it received 13.44 million tourists, up 17.1%. Among them, tourist attractions received 12.92 million tourists.

In addition, the district had 700 medical institutions by the end of 2022. The number of healthcare professionals saw a growth of 4.4% to reach 10,333.

The green coverage area of Nanshan was 9,887 hectares, including 5,697 hectares in the built-up areas. The district had 186 parks that cover an area of 3,625 hectares.
