In a dazzling display of technological prowess, the China Pavilion at the Osaka Expo 2025 officially opened its doors on April 13th, with a special guest taking center stage: Walker C, the humanoid robot developed by the Nanshan-based robotics company UBTECH. This state-of-the-art robot has been appointed as the first embodied intelligent “tour guide” for the pavilion.

As the curtains rose on the opening ceremony, Walker C gracefully walked towards the center of the stage, extending warm greetings to the distinguished guests in attendance. “Welcome to the China Pavilion!” it announced, setting the tone for an exhibition that promises to showcase the latest achievements in China’s AI field to a global audience.

Over the next six months, Walker C will be stationed at the South Square of the China Pavilion, where it will provide intelligent guided reception services and offer visitors a new human-computer interaction experience. This deployment is not just a testament to the advancements in AI technology but also a reflection of China’s commitment to innovation and technological progress.

Walker C, a new generation of electrically driven full-size humanoid robot, is designed to cater to diverse commercial service scenarios. It boasts strong perception, adaptability, and universality, making it the perfect “AI ambassador” for the China Pavilion. Equipped with a personalized intelligent interactive model developed by UBTECH, Walker C supports multilingual interactive applications, allowing it to introduce the highlights of the pavilion in multiple languages and answer audience inquiries with the help of customized databases.

Since taking up its post, Walker C has quickly gained a legion of fans, thanks to its steady and smooth movements and intelligent interactive performance. The robot is not only the “social expert” of the China Pavilion but also a popular partner for photos. During work breaks, the enthusiastic interaction between Walker C and the audience has become one of the must-see experiential projects at the expo.

Visitors have been unanimous in their praise for the robot. “It feels amazing to interact with a humanoid robot up close for the first time,” said one excited viewer. A Japanese tourist added, “This is the closest technology exhibition I have ever seen to ‘future life’! The robot’s movements are so natural and smooth, completely beyond imagination.”
