Shahe Subdistrict,established in 1984 and with a total area of 25.23 square kilometers, is in the east of Nanshan District, bordering Qiaocheng Road East to the east, Dasha River to the west, Shenzhen Bay to the south, and Beihuan Boulevard to the north. As of 2021, with 4,479 buildings, it had a total population of around 190,000, of which 84,000 were registered population and 106,000 were floating population. There are 13 community stations and 17 community neighborhood committees under the jurisdiction of Shahe Subdistrict.
Renowned for tourism resorts, recreational shopping, and cultural entertainment in Shenzhen, Shahe Subdistrict is clustered with famous tourist attractions including Window of the World, Happy Valley, Splendid China, and China Folk Culture Villages. In addition to cultural and artistic institutions including Artron Art Center, OCT-LOFT Cultural Park, He Xiangning Art Museum, and OCT Art and Design Gallery, it boasts Venice Hotel Shenzhen with a golden flying lion as the logo, the five-star InterContinental Hotel Shenzhen and Westin Shenzhen Nanshan, as well as entertainment and leisure venues such as OCT Harbor, Yitian Holiday Plaza, Kingkey Banner Center, and the Walmart shopping mall.
Shahe Subdistrict highlights its rich cultural tourism resources, fully supports the construction of Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters and other projects, and is a demonstration community for the development of headquarters and cultural clusters in the Greater Bay Area. Benefiting from the booming growth of many famous listed companies such as OCT Group, KONKA, and Shahe Group, it has gained momentum in economic growth. The advent of unicorn companies including iCarbonX and TINNO Mobile has contributed much to the socio-economic development of Nanshan District and even Shenzhen. The Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base covers an area of 1.17 square kilometers and gives priority to the layout of the headquarters cluster of the top 500 companies, the urban cultural center, the international exchange center, and the world-class coastal hall, so as to build a unique representative base rising to the ultimate position in the global economic industry chain and serving as a functional center to help make Shenzhen a world city.
