Shenzhen-based robotics company UBTECH’s smart logistics subsidiary, UQI, has signed a new contract to supply 30 million yuan (US$4.2 million) worth of its industrial humanoid robots to Miracle Automation Engineering Co. Ltd., the companies announced on Sept. 29.

The agreement, which calls for the delivery of UBTECH’s Walker S series robots by Dec. 31, marks another significant step in the partnership between the two firms. They have been strategic partners since signing a cooperation framework in June 2023, focusing on developing and applying humanoid robots in sectors like new energy vehicles, 3C electronics, and smart logistics.

Including this new order, UBTECH stated that its Walker series humanoid robots have now secured contracts totaling nearly 430 million yuan. This figure includes an order for 250 million yuan received in September from an unnamed major domestic company, which UBTECH claims is the largest single contract for humanoid robots globally to date.

Multiple Walker S-series robots operate autonomously in a smart logistics warehouse, executing material handling tasks such as picking, sorting, and palletizing.

The total also encompasses 50 million yuan worth of robots already delivered in the first half of the year, but excludes orders for its full-size research and education robot, Tien Kung.

UBTECH has established collaborations with several prominent companies, including automakers BYD, Geely, and FAW-Volkswagen, as well as logistics firm SF Express and electronics manufacturer Foxconn. Its Walker S series is now undergoing practical training in factories worldwide.
