Renowned e-sports clubs including Wolves E-sports, Trace E-sports, and DRG E-sports have announced the establishment of divisions in Nanshan District on July 25, according to Shekou News.
Specifically, Wolves E-sports and Trace E-sports opened their Valorant divisions in the district, while DRG E-sports established a Valorant division as well as a Nakara:Bladepoint division.
This development has brought the district’s total number of top-level e-sports clubs to six, which cover e-sports games such as Honor of Kings, Game for Peace, PUBG:BATTLEGROUNDS, Valorant, Nakara:Bladepoint, and FC ONLINE.
Wolves E-sports, one of China’s most influential e-sports clubs, is committed to advancing the national e-sports industry and exploring the in-depth integration of e-sports and traditional sports.
The club’s FIFA ONLINE 4 division made its debut in Nanshan in 2023, securing successive championships in the Continental FC Pro Masters and FC ONLINE Pro League S2 season in 2024.
Trace E-sports, which boasts five divisions, has chosen Nanshan for its Valorant division. Securing third place in the VCT CN league granted them their first spot in the global game in 2024. They are set to compete in the VCT Global Championship in August.
DRG E-sports holds a position in the highest-level tournaments across several globally popular e-sports games, including Valorant, Nakara:Bladepoint, and Honor of Kings.
Since the district released measures to support the e-sports industry at the end of 2020, Nanshan has been making great strides towards becoming the core area of international e-sports and the center of the e-sports industry in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
At present, the e-sports industry in Nanshan has achieved revenue exceeding 100 billion yuan (US$13.8 billion), accounting for approximately 80% of the city’s total, 50% of the province’s total, and 40% of the national total.
